Hello,
Firstly I would like to welcome my Granny and Grandad to the world, wide, web. After receiving a good old-fashioned letter from my Grandmother this morning, she excitedly alerted me to the fact she has just got a ‘tablet’. I think this purchase shows my Granny’s great ability to adapt and develop new skills. I feel very proud of her and I shall endeavor to be as engaged in the world as she is when I become a Granny one day! Who knows, Granny might even set up her own blog?!
Blogging has become an important cog in my very being.
From today my blog posts are going to be posted every month instead of weekly. To my mind this is a positive happening. Since I began blogging in June 2015, my meandering story has ebbed and flowed as one’s life usually does. I started blogging in the hope that it might direct my thoughts: take my mind off feeling perpetually heavy with self-doubt, and green with homesickness.
Looking back now, I can see my figure clinging to the fake mane of a brightly painted carousel horse. My eyes flickered as I tried to focus on the garish fair ground surroundings, rotating ever more quickly. I am glad to announce that since my early postings the carousel has calmed down somewhat. Nowadays I choose when I go on it, and only ever for my own enjoyment!
In short, this is why I will now be posting on a monthly cycle. You see, my life here is beginning to get busy, accompanied by a happy bustle. I guess I have far less time due to a combination of things like meeting new friends, joining a local music band, starting an events management course, making art, getting jobs here and there. The freeing thing about my being more occupied is that I don’t feel as torn between ‘home’ and ‘home’ anymore…
I just feel at home in myself.
I leave you with a quote from the latest book I am reading and some pictures from the last few weeks.
“All one could do was to get on with the job that nobody else could do, the job of being oneself”
Monica Dickens, from Marina
You joined s band…? Didn’t know you played an instrument…? Hope the Hideout give you a gig 🙂

Apologies if you are not in fact Lenny.
Thank you for your comment, I have played the Sax since I was a girl and have joined a big band!
